COVID-19 clients update
Take a look at this video update from Amy at Advocate Agency with advice for our clients on how to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stay proactive, stay positive and stay safe. We’re here if you need us.
Hi everyone! Firstly, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well.
If you didn’t know already, following government guidelines and instructions, we are currently working from home for the foreseeable future.
This does’t mean anything has changed in terms of the agency. We are business as usual. Still contactable whenever you need us via email or the mobile, just please refrain from using the office landline.
We know a lot of you will be feeling quite anxious and unsettled at this current time and that is completely understandable and you are definitely not alone.
During the self isolation period, please know that Casting Directors are doing all they can to continue the casting process continues. They are using platforms such a Zoom which is like an online video call/conference platform. If you haven’t got an account already we’d recommend setting one up…making sure that your username and email connected are sensible. Treat this as your temporary equivalent to being in the room. Of course there is the self tape option and a lot of you have this already. But it would be really good to ensure you all have a go-to self tape set-up.
Naturally, there are projects have been postponed or put on hold for the time being. But with casting still eager to get the ball rolling,
it’s good to be ahead of the game.
Like we stated in our mailout, you can use this time effectively. Whether that is recording some singing or dancing footage at home, cold reads on Skype with fellow actors. I know that obviously you’re eager to create, so are others, so make the most of that. Scriptwriting. Learning a new skill – whether that’s even a language or maybe even an instrument. There is so much free content out there
at the moment – 1-2-1s with Casting Directors. They’re also doing lots of live Q&As. Whether that’s on Instagram, Twitch and I think some are doing it on Twitter as well.
It’s important to remember that we are all in the same boat, and I don’t mean just actors. Casting Directors, Producers, Agents, for
the most part are freelancers feeling the same as you. Please know that we are here to support you where we can. Financially and emotionally, we are here to lend a hand and will be checking in on you every now and then to see how you’re getting on and just making sure all is stable at your end.
Another thing to remember, nothing lasts forever and we will get through this.
Although you may feel quite restricted at the moment, something to bear in mind is that by staying at home we are saving lives.
Stay proactive, stay positive and stay safe.
